El jamaicano Usain Bolt, defensor del título, clasificó sin mayores inconvenientes a las semifinales de los 100 metros planos en el Mundial de Atletismo de Londres 2017.

Bolt, plusmarquista del orbe y que disputa su último certamen antes de retirarse, ganó la sexta serie con un deslucido tiempo de 10,07 segundos, y avanzó seguido del británico James Dasaolu (10"13) y del francés Jimmy Vicaut (10"15).

También entró a semifinales el estadounidense Justin Gatlin, quien triunfó en el quinto heat con 10"05, escoltado por Andrew Fisher, de Bahrein (10"19), y por el coreano Kukyoung Kim (10"24).

Más problemas tuvo el jamaicano Yohan Blake, campeón mundial en 2011, quien clasificó segundo en la primera tanda con 10"13, detrás del japonés Abdul Hakim Sani Brown (10"05).

El mejor tiempo de las series fue para el jamaicano Julian Forte con 9"99.

Las semifinales de los 100 metros planos se disputarán este sábado a las 14:05 horas, mientras que la final está programada para las 16:45 del mismo día.
