El griego Stefanos Tsitsipas, noveno en el ranking mundial, ratificó favoritismo y avanzó sin complicaciones a los octavos de final de Roland Garros, tras batir al chino Zhizhen Zhang (44°).

El griego necesitó poco más de una hora y media para despachar al asiático por 6-3, 6-3 y 6-1.

Será la séptima vez consecutiva que Tsitsipas jugará la ronda de los 16 mejores, y enfrentará al italiano Matteo Arnaldi (35°), quien dio la sorpresa de la jornada al ganar por 7-6(6), 6-2 y 6-4 al sexto favorito, el ruso Andrey Rublev (6°).
