El cantautor, compositor, productor y arreglista Burt Bacharach, murió a los 94 años de edad, según revelaron sus cercanos.

La publicista de Bacharach, Tina Brausam, reveló la noticia el jueves, informando que el deceso se produjo por causas naturales.

Las mayoría de las canciones de Bacharach fueron escritas con el letrista Hal David y se convirtieron en grandes éxitos, particularmente en manos de la vocalista Dionne Warwick, como el éxito "I Say A Little Prayer".

Bacharach obtuvo seis premios Grammy como escritor, arreglista e intérprete entre 1967 y 2005. Además recibió galardones en Premios Oscar y los Globos de Oro por su trabajo en "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" (1969) y "Arthur" (1981).

Durante los años 90 y 2000, Bacharach también apareció frente a la cámara: hizo cameos en "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" de 1997 y sus dos secuelas.
