El legendario cantautor Sixto Díaz Rodríguez, conocido artísticamente como "Sugar Man", murió a la edad de 81 años.

Según los informes, Rodríguez sufrió un derrame cerebral en los meses previos a su muerte y luchó contra la enfermedad después del incidente.

"Es con gran tristeza que en Sugarman.org anunciamos que Sixto Díaz Rodríguez falleció hoy", dice la publicación en el sitio web oficial. "Extendemos nuestras más sentidas condolencias a sus hijas, Sandra, Eva y Regan, y a toda su familia", se agrega.

"Sugar Man" logró reconocimiento masivo en 2012 con el documental "Searching for Sugar Man", que cuenta la historia del misterioso cantante y los esfuerzos de dos fanáticos sudafricanos por descubrir su paradero.
