Quien fue bajista de la banda de grunge estadounidense Screaming Trees, Van Conner, falleció producto de una neumonía. 

El guitarrista Gary Lee Conner, hermano y colega de uno de los cofundadores del grupo, que creció al lado de nombres como Nirvana, Pearl Jam y Alice in Chains en los noventas, dedicó un mensaje en su memoria. 

"Era uno de los amigos más cercanos que he tenido y le quería inmensamente", escribió el músico y agregó: "Le echaré de menos por siempre jamás...", escribió Gary. 

Formada en Washington en 1984 Screaming Trees ganó reconocimiento general con su álbum Sweet Oblivion (1992), que integra temas como "Nearly lost you" y "Troubled Times". 

El año pasado falleció su colega, el mítico vocalista Mark Lanegan, a los 57 años, y tras la disolución de la banda en el 2000 destacó por sus 12 lanzamientos en solitario, así como su colaboración con Queens of the Stone Age.
