La actriz estadounidense Melinda Dillon, reconocida por su participación en clásicos del cine en los setentas y ochentas, falleció este mes en Los Ángeles a los 83 años, acorde reveló su familia. 

Dillon ganó notoriedad mundial por sus roles en "Encuentros cercanos del tercer tipo" (1977) donde interpreta a la madre de un hijo abducido por extraterrestres y "Ausencia de malicia" (1981), que le significaron dos nominaciones al Oscar respectivamente. 

También interpretó a la madre de Ralphie en "Historias de navidad" (1983), donde advierte al niño que quiere un rifle de aire comprimido: "¡Te vas a sacar un ojo!". Detalles sobre su deceso no fueron entregados.
