La estrella de la serie "You", Penn Badgley, reflexionó sobre el revuelo que han causado las historias sobre asesinos en serie, incluida en la que actúa. 

En el marco del lanzamiento de la cuarta temporada, quien interpreta a Joe Goldberg fue consultado por Entertainment Today cuál es el mensaje que enviaría "las personas que se sienten atraídas por asesinos en serie".

"Tienen que mirarse eso, por dentro", lanzó Badgley, para posteriormente hacer una distinción entre los criminales ficticios y los que realmente han matado a gente inocente. "¿Ted Bundy? ¡Eso es cosa tuya! Jeffrey Dahmer, eso está en Netflix. Eso es responsabilidad de Netflix".

Sin más rodeos, el actor concluyó: "No tengo respuestas en este momento. Las tengo, pero son largas. Sí, es raro, hombre".
