Un incendio se registró este viernes por la madrugada en Avenida San Ignacio con la Alameda, entre las estaciones Los Héroes y La Moneda, en el centro de Santiago.

Las llamas afectaron al segundo piso de un centenario edificio de 17 habitaciones, por lo que en un momento hubo riesgo de derrumbe, y dejaron al menos a una veintena de habitantes damnificados.

El fuego fue controlado rápidamente, según informó Bomberos. 

El siniestro tuvo se origen en un colchón que estaba siendo quemado en la vereda. 

"Por transmisión se traspasó el fuego y el calor por dentro del edificio. Se produjo una especie de chimenea", detalló el comandante Jorge Guevara, de la compañía de Bomberos de Santiag (CBS). 

Al lugar llegaron 20 carros y más de 100 bomberos.

No se registraron lesionados.
