"Game of Thrones" y "Veep" reinaron nuevamente en los Emmys

La 68 edición de los premios Emmy, que se celebró esta noche en Los Ángeles, coronó por segundo año consecutivo a "Game of Thrones" como mejor serie dramática y a "Veep" como mejor serie cómica.

La serie de fantasía épica de HBO, basada en las novelas de George R.R. Martin, ganó 12 galardones, con los que igualó el récord de la producción más premiada en una sola edición que ya había logrado en 2015.

Por su parte, "Veep" renovó su reinado en la comedia, con su segundo Emmy seguido, frente a las nominadas "Black-ish", "Master of None", "Modern Family", "Silicon Valley", "Transparent" y "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt".

En las categorías de interpretación, Rami Malek, el protagonista de "Mr. Robot", se alzó con el reconocimiento al mejor actor dramático y, en un emocionante discurso, dio las gracias al creador de la serie, Sam Esmail, al que definió como un "puro visionario".

Además, Tatiana Maslany rompió los pronósticos y ganó el Emmy a la mejor actriz dramática por "Orphan Black", una serie de la que dijo estar orgullosa de formar parte porque pone "a las mujeres en el centro".

Asimismo, Julia Louis-Dreyfus recibió su quinto Emmy consecutivo a la mejor actriz cómica por "Veep", y Jeffrey Tambor repitió su galardón al mejor intérprete cómico por "Transparent".

Por su parte, "The People v O.J. Simpson" arrasó en su categoría con los premios a mejor miniserie, mejor actor (Courtney B. Vance), mejor actriz (Sarah Paulson) y mejor actor secundario (Sterling K. Brown).

La 68 edición de los premios Emmy se celebró este domingo en el teatro Microsoft de Los Ángeles y contó con el presentador y humorista Jimmy Kimmel como maestro de ceremonias.
